SFR joins Mantis medtech and policetech PR practices

Mantis continues a strong first quarter of our financial year as we begin work with our latest medtech and policetech client, SFR Medical, a UK start-up which makes obtaining medical evidence quicker and easier for police forces.

The team, led by Account Director Bryony Cox, will work with SFR Medical Co-founder and Chief Communications Officer (CCO), Lisa Marsden Helfer to create a comms campaign that makes use of Mantis’ earned and owned media practices, specifically aimed at raising awareness of SFR Medical amongst UK stakeholders.

SFR Medical’s secure software enables the rapid production of medical evidence reports by certified medical professionals for the police, as part of violent crime investigations. Getting medical evidence from the NHS is crucial for the police to charge and detain criminal suspects. A case cannot usually progress without the medical evidence reports, and SFR Medical’s tech reduces the waiting time from around eight weeks, to, on average, five days. Mantis will focus on news, customer advocacy and thought leadership aimed at three key audiences: the police, the NHS, and the legal profession.

One of the great privileges of public sector tech PR is bringing life-changing tech such as SFR Medical’s to the public’s attention for the first time. The deep inefficiencies around the collection of medical evidence causes NHS staff, police forces and lawyers so much frustration and leads to delays in charging decisions and trials, and sometimes the early release of suspects who might go on to reoffend. A significant digital development from SFR Medical breaks the cycle and allows the police to take some very dangerous criminals off the streets, making it a wonderful story to tell.

SFR Medical’s CCO, Lisa Marsden Helfer added, “Mantis’ clear knowledge and commitment to their industry makes them the winning team to work with me and my marketing team. We value their attitude to partnership and their clear experience with policetech and healthtech PR campaigns. I am currently working with my founder colleagues to grow SFR Medical’s customer base in the UK as we build our product and service portfolio. I look forward to partnering further with Mantis to shape our external comms strategy, to match our market progression.”
